if our hemispheres were mirrored, stars alone would break the glass. the shattering equator wouldn't flicker my eyelids as i realized oil and water were the same thing afterall. when the news spread and even the icecaps were homogenized, the greasy shine would reflect the clouds back upon the raindrops.

but there is no mirror, and oil and water only mingle.
